Pacific Internship Programs for Exploring Science (PIPES) at the University of Hawaii at Hilo: Apply by 2/29!

Applications are now available and being accepted for the 2008 Pacific Internship Programs for Exploring Science (PIPES) at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. The programs include:

- University of Hawaii Hawaiian Internship Program (UH-HIP),

- Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU), and

- Micronesian and America Samoan Student Internship Program (MASSIP)

The application deadline is February 29th, 2008 (application instructions are available on our website at http://www.uhh.hawaii.edu/uhintern/apply).

These programs offer undergraduate student internships that focus on environmental issues, ranging from scientific research to resource management to environmental education. PIPES is a collaborative effort made possible by partnerships with university faculty, government agencies, private businesses, and non-profit organizations.

Through these programs students gain valuable mentored hands-on experiences in which they gain further insight into Hawaii’s environmental challenges. We are looking forward to another successful summer!
