Word Parts - able


One of the fastest ways to increase your vocabulary is by learning word parts, i.e., roots, prefixes, suffixes or forms.

-able : From Latin expressing capacity, fitness to do that which can be handled or managed

victimizable - anyone who can be defrauded, swindled, or made into a dupe and cheated; amendable - that which can be amended, corrected, bettered, repaired, or make amends for; surmountable - capable of being surmounted or overcome; considerable - large in amount, extent, or degree; potable - it to drink, drinkable; inoperable - too far advanced for effective surgery; manageable - that which can be managed or controlled.
