Word Parts - de-


One of the fastest ways to increase your vocabulary is by learning word parts, i.e., roots, prefixes, suffixes or forms.

de- : Latin: from, away from, off; wholly, entirely, utterly, complete; reverse the action of, undo; the negation or reversal of the notion expressed in the primary word

decease - event or act of dying, depart from life; deduct - take away or subtract; derogatory - tending to detract or diminish; desensitize - make insensible, to deaden; detoxification - process of removing a poison or toxin from the body; deport - expel from a country; depose - removes someone from office or power; depreciation - reduce or lower the value; deny - declare something not true.
