He was a gonzo jounalist (written subjectively via a first person narrative) who joined Hells Angels to write about them, wrote "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", "The Curse of Lono", "The Great Shark Hunt", "Better Than Sex", and many others. The movie Where the Buffalo Roam is about him.
