Word Parts - anima, anim

anima-, anim- : From Latin animal life, a living being, living, breath, soul, mind

transanimate - transfer the soul of (a person) from one body to another body; anima - in Jung’s terminology, the soul, that part of the psyche that is directed inwardly and is in touch with the unconscious; animalcule - animal so small as to be visible only with the aid of the microscope; animality - characteristics of animals as opposed to plants; animadversive - eing critical, censuring, or making a censorious comment; inanimate - not animated or alive; magnanimous - very generous, kind, or forgiving; disanimate - to deprive of life, to render lifeless; equanimity - steadiness of mind under stress.
