e.g. Convert 10 decameters to centimeters.
Set up the columns as shown below so that the ones column comes under
deca. Move the decimal point to the right of the column with centi.
Add zeros until you are under centimeters. That is your answer.

kilo   hecta   deca   unit   deci   centi   milli
     1      0

kilo   hecta   deca   unit   deci   centi   milli
