IMPORTANT
The WCC Library will be moving into
the new Library Learning Commons building soon. Unfortunately, this will limit library services from July 11-24.
Services & Resources Not Available July 11-24
- Circulation — Library
materials will not be available for check out while the library is
closed. We recommend checking out any items you need by July 10th. You
may return items to the drop box of the "old library" while the library
is closed.
- Reserves — If
your students will need to access reserve materials during this time,
please contact Tara asap to discuss possible alternatives or
work-arounds (severns@hawaii.edu or 235-7440).
- Interlibrary Loan (ILL) — The
library will not send or receive items to/from other UH Libraries while
closed. You may check out certain items from the UH library that hold
them. Also check to see whether your item is available at one of the public libraries. You may also submit a hold request through the Hawaii Voyager Catalog (click
on "Get This Item"). Specify the needed dates in the comments field,
and designate the library from which you will pick up the item.
- Media Scheduling — We recommend getting the items you need in advance of the library closing date, or submit a hold request through the Hawaii Voyager Catalog
(click on "Get This Item"). Specify the needed dates in the comments
field, and designate the library where you will pick up the item.
- Reference — Librarians will periodically check for emailed reference questions (wccref@hawaii.edu). Please allow up to 48 hours for a response.
- E-Books — WCC has access to tens of thousands of electronic books, including an online reference library called Credo Reference.
- Databases — WCC subscribes to several dozen databases, including those with periodical articles, films, maps, art, and more.
- Instruction — Contact Tara to arrange a library instruction session in your classroom (severns@hawaii.edu or 235-7440).
The current plan is for access to full library services and materials to resume July 25.
