How has TRiO SSS helped you/what services have you used?

Personal Statement:
In the semester Spring 2011, I was able to pay for a childcare provider because of the grant aid that is provided by the Trio committee. This is one of the major factors that students here at Windward have trouble with because, the extra help we need with our keiki is sometimes never there. As a first generation college student, a parent of three young children and leaving the   the Taper’s Union in pursuit of other aims of finding another well-paying job, time has become less expendable;  finding time to give attention to my kids and working on school has involved a significant amount of sacrifice, which hit me pretty hard. Without the help of the Trio SSS staff and facility, I would not have made it this far. With all the benefits that I received from the Trio staff and committee, that include FREE PRINTING!, FREE TUTORING!, FREE MENTORING!, FREE SNACKS!!, and the eligibility to receive free grant aid every semester I have attended here, all of these free opportunities has made it all worthwhile.
