Aloha,
My name is Moke Galletes and I am writing
in support of the TRiO SSS program. I attended Windward Community College (WCC)
from the Spring semester of 2010 and eventually Graduated in the Spring of 2012
with my Associates of Arts Degree (AA).
From the beginning of my time at WCC, I
was given the opportunity to participate in the TRiO program which I had heard
about from a friend. As a father of three children and at the time working a
full time job and two part-time jobs, I found many of the services to be very
useful in my success as a student while a WCC. The free tutoring and knowledge
of other services such as financial aid assisted me in achieving my short term
goal as a student in attaining my AA. I eventually moved on to my bigger goal of
getting my Bachelor’s Degree which I am currently in the process of at the
University of Hawai’i at West Oahu and after that I will work towards my
Master’s Degree.
Without my drive to provide a better life
for my family and the support services of TRiO SSS, I do believe that I would
not be in a position that I am today. The staff at the TRiO program provides
valuable services that can help students reach their goals and strive for a
better future, not only for their families, but also for those who will come
after. I found that many who have received helped from TRiO were the very ones
that provided the services for students like me. With great pleasure, I humbly
give my total support for the TRiO SSS program and would like my chance to give
back to this program that shall help many more to come.
Sincerely,
Moke Galletes
