The Affordable Care Act will take effect on March 31, 2014. According to this law, the government will impose a fine of 1% of your annual income if you do not have a qualified health insurance plan. Kuʻulei Lauglin a volunteer and board member of the Waimānalo Neighborhood Board will be at the TRIO SSS office offering a FREE health insurance workshop. During the workshop, Kuʻulei will assist students in applying for a plan that meets your health and financial needs. The workshop will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 9am to 5pm at the TRIO SSS office, Hale Naʻauao 146.

Bobbie Tom from Kamehameha Schools will be here on Friday, February 14, 2014 from 9am to 12pm to answer any questions or concerns you may have regarding KS scholarships and services. Bobbie will also be collecting any supporting documents for the Hoʻoulu Hawaiian Data Center and Nā Hoʻokama a Pauahi scholarship.
Also, for those of you who are graduating this spring 2014 and participating in commencement ceremonies in May, you can now order your cap and gown set at the bookstore. The cost is $38.75 and includes the cap, gown, tassel, and key (year). The last day to order the cap and gown set is FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2014. Students must meet with their counselors to do a grad check before ordering a cap and gown set.
