Help is on the Way...

Aloha TRiO SS and Paipai Ohana,

You should have already received an email from Sarah and/or from the University of Hawaii Systems in regards to needing funds if you're experiencing financial hardship.  For those who have not received the email, here's the link to complete the application, UH Urgent Student Relief Fund:  https://www.hawaii.edu/news/2020/03/31/apply-uh-urgent-student-relief/.  Applications are due every Wednesday by 4p.m.  

Also, if you're having a hard time paying your mortgage or rent payment, utilities, or even childcare services, click on the link for more information on Ho'ala Assistance Program:  https://www.hawaiiancouncil.org/hrf.

Also, also, there's free delivery services for your kupuna and others in need!  Here's the link:  https://hihelpisontheway.org/.

  • Target will reserve the first hour of shopping on Wednesdays for senior citizens.
  • Foodland will set aside the first hour of business at stores statewide on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday to serve only those 60 and older and their caretakers. The program will start Thursday and continue through March 31.
  • Times Supermarkets will reserve the first hour of its store opening every day for seniors and people with serious chronic medical conditions. The change will go into effect on Friday until further notice.
  • Tamura’s Market will open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:15 to 8 a.m. for seniors (age 60 and older) and an accompanying family member or caregiver. This will start Friday and continue through March 30.
  • Whole Foods Market stores will open for seniors 60 and older one hour before opening.
