TRiO SSS is in a prime (see campus map below) space in the Hale Kako'o building (~4500 sq. ft--see building map for approximate square footage). It is highly visible and is centrally located which strengthens program activities due to the proximity to the library, testing center, to language arts faculty offices, and to the math building, which houses a math lab and math faculty. Also housed in Hale Kako'o is the mental health counselor, disability counselor, domestic violence advocate, title ix coordinator, career counselor and career closet (free dress clothes for interviews), Paipai coordinator, transfer counselors, women's community correctional center coordinator, Native Hawaiian counselor, and other academic advisors/counselors. Participants benefit from close proximity to these campus resources and have greater access to services provided. Staff benefit from being physically located within and among the personnel who are critical to the process of identifying and referring eligible participants and in providing direct support services. All project facilities are handicapped-accessible, with ample handicapped parking stalls adjacent to or near each campus building.
