We are hiring a mental health technician, this is a position that would be perfect for any of the undergraduate SW students or anyone interested in behavioral health. It provides great experience in the field, and we have some weekend midnight shifts available.
We are currently looking for a mental health technician to work the 11:30pm-8am shift on Saturday and Sunday Nights at the Group home located in Aiea,. You must have availability for these shifts to be considered. (more shifts available)
Responsibilities: Residential Services contracts with the State of Hawaii for adult mental health services. The Mental Health Technician is a member of a multidisciplinary team, responsible to carry out rehabilitation and support functions such as psychosocial rehabilitation programming, treatment planning, education, support, consultation with families, and providing crisis intervention under the direction of the clinical staff. Additional duties include, but not limited to: collaboration with case managers and external treatment teams, processing utilizations, admission and discharge parperork and preparing reports.
Experience: Must have a minimum of a high school diploma and 12 semester credit hours in courses such as psychology, philosophy, biology, social work, criminal justice, human services, administration, or other behavioral services. One year specialized experience working within mental health preferred.
Required Skills: Mature, reliable and responsible. Must be comfortable working with adults with a history severe mental illness and their families. Must be culturally sensitive and aware. MUST know the basics of ethics, HIPPA standards, and problem solving. Must display sound judgment, a good work ethic and personal integrity. A working knowledge of diverse populations including but not limited to treatment of behavior disorders, mood disorder, anxiety disorders, and Schizophrenia/Schizoaffective Disorder.
