TRiO SSS and Paipai o Ko'olau will be offering FREE summer math courses. We have 15 - 20 seats in MATH 21, MATH 28, and MATH 25 and the course is FREE. There are various criteria used for awarding a seat in the class as well as for attending the class. Preference will be given to students who will be graduating soon, have used TRiO SSS services (i.e., signed in to use the lab, advising, tutoring, grant aid, paid off IOU's, etc.) and/or have used Paipai o Ko'olau services (advising, attended monthly meetings, kept in contact, etc.).
Are you committed to coming to class, completing your homework, meeting with tutors, doing extra problems, re-taking chapter tests if you score below 95%, etc. You will need to put in a minimum of 20+ hours a week of class and study time for the course. Why 20+ hours? For the past four summer math sessions, weʻve had 89.19% of the participants receive an A, B, or C with 48.11% receiving an A and 82.16% receiving an A or B. The participants were committed to doing whatever it takes to pass the class as some had failed the course one to four times and most of these participants were able to commit and earn an A or B.
If you are interested and can commit to a minimum 20+ hours/week schedule for math, please fill out the attached application and come see Roy. The sooner you fill out the application and turn it in, the better as we only have 15 - 20 seats per class.
