STEM major? Engineering & Technology Professionals! Survey on Kupunas!

TRiO SSS and PAIPAI !!!

Application for the Akamai 2021 Internship Program is officially open! The Akamai Internship Program is an 8-week internship that offers college students from Hawaii an opportunity to gain summer work experience at an observatory, company, or scientific/technical facility in Hawaii. The program has placements for students from community colleges and four-year universities from a wide range of STEM majors. Akamai is a unique program with a long history of success. There are now 428 Akamai alumni, and more than 250 are working in STEM jobs! For more information about the Akamai Program and the link to the application, go to akamai hawaii.org. Any questions please reach out via email, akamai@ucsc.edu, or use this simple form. The new Akamai drop-in office hours available through-out December, January, and February (see schedule here)

Also, a survey is being conducted by a UH Manoa social work student, Lydia for kūpunas affected by COVID-19 restrictions. This is to gather responses from anyone connected to kūpuna: administrators, caregivers, family members as well as kūpuna themselves. From there a program will be created for kūpuna that addresses the gaps in service identified in your responses. Participants will lend essential insight into the problems weʻre seeking to explore. Both surveys are confidential and available in both hard copy and as an online survey. Here’s the link to both surveys:
