HIMB Shuttle Boat DriverHIMB is recruiting on-call shuttle boat drivers. Hours are flexible and available on an as-needed basis. Duties include operating a seventeen foot outboard motor shuttle boat and shuttle van, and providing light maintenance of both boat and van. Successful applicants will possess high standards of safety, punctuality and hospitality. On-call shuttle drivers must have availability during afternoons, evenings and weekends, but the hours are very flexible. HIMB shuttle boat drivers must go through boat operation certification with HIMB Marine Safety Officer, Jason Jones, and possess a valid driver's license.HIMB Housing AssistantHIMB is recruiting on-call housing assistants. Hours are flexible and available on an as-needed basis. Duties include cleaning and preparing dormitory rooms for visiting researchers, cleaning and folding laundry, cleaning shared dormitory kitchens and bathrooms and assisting visitors with questions related to residing on Moku o Loe. Successful applicants will possess high standards of cleanliness, organization, and hospitality, and will have flexible schedules. Housing assistants must have some availability during weekends, but the hours are also very flexible. This opportunity is open until need is met.HIMB Marine Safety Operations AssistantHIMB is recruiting a part-time, temporary Marine Safety Operations Assistant to help us run the safest research fleet in Oahu. Duties include: conducting preventative and corrective maintenance on small outboard engine craft including mechanical, electrical and light fiberglass repair; ensuring onboard safety equipment is operational; and assisting researchers with marine field work preparation and launch. Successful applicants will possess mechanical aptitude, experience with boat maintenance and a strong commitment to safety and high-quality results. Work is conducted Monday - Friday between 7 a.m. - 5 p.m., with occasional weekends. Possibility for permanent part-time employment.
